Sidney Chafetz is a Columbus treasure. A professor emeritus of Ohio State University, Mr Chafetz is so beloved by past students that they formed a printmaking alumni association in his honor called the "Residivists". Other notable achievements include numerous national and international awards and fellowships as well as foundation and university research grants. Artist Talk With Joan Tallan

Beach Scene, by Joan Tallan
Artist Gallery Talk Series
Wehrle Gallery, Wednesday at Noon,
Free and Open to the public
October 15th
Artist Joan Tallen will lead us in a gallery talk entitled "War and Peace:Blood, Gore and some Fun"
Artist statement:
I am a people watcher. I observe the people I work with, play with, and see in the media. I am fascinated by the episodes that make up their lives.
Portraying people at their activities, from memory, life, or with the help of photos forms the content of most of my work. I also love flowers. I have a garden, but that is second to people.
The wood of a woodcut, and the copper and acid of intaglio influences the line and movement of the composition.
