Art Apprenticeships

An arts apprenticeship offers the opportunity to bring together artists and serious students who share a common interest in printmaking. It pairs a professional artist with a less-experienced apprentice. The apprentice can advance their own art training while also participating in the daily operations of the Artist’s personal studio or the of Phoenix Rising Printmaking Cooperative.

Work Schedule: The professional artist and apprentice jointly plan when, where, and what they expect to accomplish during the course of the apprenticeship. Some weekend hours may be required for workshops or special events.

Compensation: Mentor and training. CCAD students who complete up to 120 hours can receive 1.5 credit hours or can volunteer and fill C3 hours. *

Intern Requirements: Informal interview with 2 of our current Artist Members. Interns must have reliable transportation. Intern’s class and work schedule will be taken into account, however, once a working schedule is established, punctuality and adherence to internship hours is expected. Some printmaking experience is helpful, but dependability, initiative, attention to detail, organizational skills, consciousness in duties, and the ability to learn are paramount. Strong interpersonal skills, interest in printmaking practices, and the ability to work well with others are also important.

To Apply: Phoenix Rising requires applicants to submit 1) letter of interest, 2) a current resume and 3) a list of 2 references.
